Care Team listens, supports, and connects with students experiencing:
- Basic needs insecurity (housing, food, finances, etc.)
- Burnout or school stress
- Grief or loss
- Mental health concerns
- Relationship worries
- Other unmet needs and more
We serve all enrolled students - undergraduate, graduate, and professional, and using our services does not impact an individual's international visa status.
Cost/Insurance:
There is no cost associated with meeting with a staff.
Before the meeting:
Complete an intake form. This will be emailed to you, but you can also access it digitally. This will help the Care Team learn more about your priorities and needs before the meeting.
When you arrive:
- If you did not complete intake form prior to meeting, you can complete that when you arrive.
- If in person, you will be directed to wait in our 341 Appleby waiting room. The room is stocked with tea, coffee, and snacks that are available to you.
During the meeting:
- Care team will create a warm environment by offering empathetic, active listening.
- Care Team will center your needs and priorities in the meeting.
- Care Team will gather information from you to help get your needs met.
- Based on the information, the student and Care Team member will identify a plan of how to prioritize needs and navigate on and off campus resources.
- The meeting time can be spent creating a plan, completing tasks, making phone calls, and processing together.
- At the end of the meeting, the student can determine what happens next and how they want to engage with the Care Team in the future. This could include scheduling a follow up meeting, schedule a check-in email, or determine they will reach out to Care Team in the future if needed.
